Commerce Department Revises GDP Higher

The Commerce Department announced positive revisions to the fourth quarter GDP numbers this morning. Previous estimates called for 5.7% growth in the fourth quarter, but the revisions take it up to 5.9% as companies continue to re-stock their inventories. Most economists do not expect this high growth rate to continue into 2010 as unemployment remains high, but the average forecast for 2010 sits at 3.1% according to the National Association for Business Economics.
