Dean Foods Company (NYSE:DF) announced second quarter earnings of 38 cents per share, a 23% increase from the 31 cents per share earned in the same quarter last year. The company boosted its full year earnings guidance to at least a dollar sixty per share, driven by favorable commodities prices and lower costs. For the third quarter, the company said it expects to earn at least 30 cents per share. Shares were off over 10% in early trading Wednesday.

Outdoor products company Blount International (NYSE:BLT) announced second quarter earnings of 9 cents per share, down from 21 cents per share in the same quarter last year. Sales were down about 26% year over year, but steady from the first quarter. The company gave outlook for the second half of 2009 for an increase in sales, but its full year sales guidance of 470 to 490 million dollars was lower than the previous outlook. Blount shares fell over 10% in early trading Wednesday.

And shares of Global Cash Access Holdings (NYSE:GCA) fell 11 and a half percent after reporting earnings of 12 cents per share, and announcing it would acquire Western Money Systems for 15 million dollars, in a deal expected to close in 2010. Looking ahead, the company said it now believes the weakness in its markets will be more prolonged than previously anticipated, and said revenue would be slightly below the low end pf prior guidance.
