Upgrades: BIG, AA, LPNT Thursday, October 1, 3:05 PM ET
Today, Big Lots (NYSE:BIG), the nation's largest closeout retailer, was upgraded by JP Morgan to Overweight from Neutral and the firm set a price target of $30 per share.
Share of Big Lots are trading higher by more than two percent in afternoon trading.
Alcoa (NYSE:AA) was upgraded ahead of earnings by Deutsche Bank to Buy from Hold citing a favorable outlook for aluminum and reduced risk going forward.
Following the upgrade, shares of Alcoa gained almost two and a half percent so far.
Soleil Securities upgraded LifePoint Hospitals (NASDAQ:LPNT) to Buy from Hold, and set a price target of $32.75. The firm believes that LifePoint could trade at 12 times their 2010 EPS estimate of $2.73 over the next year.
Shares of LifePoint have climbed almost three and a half percent on the upgrade.
