Daily Dividend Report: MRK, BLL, SPW, ORI, MKC Wednesday, November 25, 4:19 PM ET
Yesterday afternoon, Merck (NYSE:MRK) declared its quarterly dividend of thirty eight cents per share, maintaining the amount paid last quarter. With the dividend, the company also announced it had approved a new $3 billion share repurchase program as means of further increasing shareholder value.
In afternoon trading, shares of Merck were trading higher, up about one percent so far today.
In other dividend news, Ball Corporation (NYSE:BLL) maintained its quarterly dividend of 10 cents per share. SPX Corporation (NYSE:SPW) maintained its quarterly dividend of 25 cents per share. And Old Republic (NYSE:ORI) maintained its quarterly dividend of 17 cents per share.
Among dividend increases, McCormick & Company (NYSE:MKC) announced its quarterly dividend of 26 cents per share, an increase of about 8% over its prior dividend in September of 24 cents.
