Sanofi-Aventis, Regeneron Expand Partnership Wednesday, November 11, 9:33 AM ET
Sanofi-Aventis (NYSE:SNY) and Regeneron (NASDAQ:REGN) have extended their antibody marketing partnership through 2017.
Sanofi has agreed to increase its funding of Regeneron’s therapeutic monoclonal antibody research by $60 million per year, for a total of $160 million annually.
The partnership, under which the two companies hope to develop five antibodies per year, would have expired in 2012.
Since the partnership began in 2007, the companies have brought four treatments into clinical development, working, for example, as pain medications.
