Williams-Sonoma Beats on Cost Controls Thursday, November 19, 11:23 AM ET
Williams-Sonoma (NYSE:WSM) posted earnings of $7.3 million, or 7 cents per share, for the third quarter, as compared to a loss of $11 million, or 10 cents per share, in the same quarter last year. Cost controls at the company’s namesake cookware and Pottery Barn home goods stores helped results.
Adjusted earnings totaled 16 cents per share, besting analyst expectations.
Revenue dipped 3 percent to $729 million.
Williams-Sonoma is looking for full-year 2009 revenue in a range of $2.98 billion to $3.04 billion.
