Shares of Sonic and Transcend Gain After Pricing Offerings

Digital media company Sonic Solutions priced a public offering of 3 million common shares at 9 dollars and 70 cents each. Sonic said net proceeds would be used for general corporate purposes. William Blair is the sole book-running manager for the offering. In Thursday trading, shares of Sonic Solutions gained more than 10%.

And voice-to-text systems provider Transcend Services priced a public offering of just over 2.2 million common shares at 16 dollars and 75 cents each. Of the 2.2 million shares offered, 1.5 million were offered by the company and the remainder was sold by certain selling stockholders. Transcend said the proceeds it receives will be used to repay the remaining amount under its term loan. Lazard Capital Markets (NYSE:LAZ) is the sole book running manager for the offering. Shares of Transcend were trading more than 8 and a half percent higher.
