Time Warner Cable, Fox Yet to Agree on Dispute Thursday, December 31, 10:38 AM ET
Time Warner Cable (TWC) and Fox television (NASDAQ:NWS) have until midnight Thursday to agree on fees that Fox is demanding for Time Warner to offer its channels to cable customers.
News Corp. is demanding $1 per subscriber monthly to go to the Fox network itself. Time Warner has said those fees are excessive, but it said Wednesday that it will enter binding arbitration to keep fox channels on the air for Time Warner Cable customers.
Disney (NYSE:DIS) asked Time Warner to pull 10 of its ABC channels off the air in a similar dispute in 2000, and the matter was resolved within a month.
