Novell (NOVL) confirmed that it has received an unsolicited, conditional proposal from Elliott Associates, L.P. to acquire the Company for $5.75 per share in cash.
On the news, shares of Novell are trading up almost 26.75%.
DineEquity (NYSE:DIN), the parent company of Applebee's and IHOP Restaurants narrowed their net loss to 2.84 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $8.15 per diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Shares of DineEquity are up more than 14.5% so far today.
Ethan Allen (NYSE:ETH) announced today that written sales orders for the two months ended February 28, 2010, have increased approximately 25% over the prior year.
On the announcement, Ethan Allen shares are up more than 15%.
Netezza (NZ) posted non-GAAP net income for the fourth quarter of $0.08 per diluted share, compared to $0.09 per diluted share, for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009. The $0.08 beat analyst expectations and today the stock is up.
Currently Netezza shares have gained more than 14.5% on the day.
Nelnet (NYSE:NNI) reported base net income of $1.64 per share, for the fourth quarter of 2009, compared with $0.32 per share, for the same quarter a year ago, handily beating analyst expectations.
