424 Percent of the SPDR S&P Retail ETF's Shares Have Been Shorted

There are 60,232,200 shares short of the SPDR S&P Retail ETF (AMEX:XRT) according to data provided to ETFChannel.com from ShortSqueeze.com on ETFChannel's Most Heavily Shorted ETFs toplist.
What makes this number particularly interesting is that the SPDR S&P Retail ETF has 14.2 million shares outstanding. That's right - 424% of this ETF's shares are shorted, making it the most shorted ETF that ETFChannel covers.
Top holdings of this ETF include Gymboree (GYMB), J.C. Penney (NYSE:JCP), Carmax (NYSE:KMX) and AnnTaylor (NYSE:ANN).
It would take approximately 6.7 days for shorts to cover these shares.
