Amazon.com Shares Push the Internet HOLDRs ETF Higher
By Market News Video Staff, Friday, October 22, 10:40 AM ET
After the bell yesterday, Amazon.com (NASDAQ:AMZN) posted strong earnings for the third quarter, propelling shares higher on Friday morning. While shares initially dipped on the lackluster guidance, the stock has followed a similar pattern of other technology stocks this week.
The Internet HOLDRs ETF started the day in the red, but has since turned higher as Amazon.com accounts for almost 45% of the portfolio. Other positions in the ETF's portfolio include eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) and Yahoo! (NASDAQ:YHOO), both of which reported earnings this week.
