Shares of Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM) were helping the iShares PHLX SOX Semiconductor Sector Index Fund (NASDAQ:SOXX) this morning, as strong results have Broadcom trading higher by nearly 10% today. The company reported third quarter earnings of 60 cents per share, topping Wall Street estimates of 55 cents. With the strong earnings, the company also saw Goldman Sachs raise its price target to $48 per share while maintaining its buy rating.
Broadcom accounts for 8.65% for the iShares PHLX SOX Semiconductor Sector Index Fund and is the ETFs top holding. Rounding out the top four holdings are Texas Instruments (NASDAQ:TXN) at 8.57%, Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) at 7.99% and Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) at 7.64%.
