Intel shares are bucking the negative trends in the techology sector today, climbing almost 1% while the Nasdaq is off about 1%. Shares of Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), IBM (NYSE:IBM) and VMware (NYSE:VMW) have kept the PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQQ) in the red today, but other ETFs with more of a focus on Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) have prospered.
The Semiconductor HOLDRs (AMEX:SMH) is higher by 0.3% right now as more than 20% of its portfolio is Intel stock. And the ProShares Ultra Semiconductors ETF (AMEX:USD) is higher by 0.6% as this ETF is leveraged to the movements in the semiconductor sector.
