The Market Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF (AMEX:GDXJ) is up 27% over the last three months versus SPDR Gold Trust (AMEX:GLD), with an 8.4% return over the same period.
Top components of the Market Vectors Junior Gold Miners ETF include Barrick Gold (NYSE:ABX) at 16.31%, and Goldcorp (NYSE:GG) at 11.41%. Interestingly, these two companies have had single digit gains in the past three months. One has to go down the list of holdings to find the winners that have contributed to GDXJ's massive return. Companies like Compania de Minas Buenaventura SA (NYSE:BVN) with its 21% gain over three months, and Silver Wheaton (NYSE:SLW) up 39% over the period, have brought up the average.
