AMGN, BIIB Initiated at Sell

Coverage of both Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) and Biogen Idec (NASDAQ:BIIB) was initiated at Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) today, both with a “sell” rating.

Amgen shares are trading lower by 2.9%, while Biogen trades down 1%.

Amgen is the #1 stock in the Biotech HOLDRS (AMEX:BBH) fund, at 36.15% of the total. Biogen is the #3 stock in the fund, at 16.61%.

The fund itself is trading down 1.2% today.

Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ:GILD), Genzyme (NASDAQ:GENZ) and Shire (NASDAQ:SHPGY) round out the top five holdings.

Amgen is also the top stock in the iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology Index Fund (NASDAQ:IBB), at 8.59% of the fund.
