Online brokerage TD Ameritrade (NYSE:AMTD) said today that the average trades per day in October rose 14% from September, to 362,000. Average fee-based balances rose 5% from September. Furthermore, client assets totaled $367 billion by the end of the month, up 3% from September, and up 23% from last October.
TD Ameritrade shares are trading 0.2% Tuesday.
The stock is 4.32% of the iShares Down Jones U.S. Broker-Dealer Index Fund (AMEX:IAI), trading lower by 1.3% today with the general markets. Top holdings in the fund include Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS), at 9.26%, Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS), at 6.74%.
