Boeing (NYSE:BA) announced today that it expects global air cargo traffic to triple by 2029, with 5.9% annual growth over the next twenty years.
The company said air cargo traffic is due to be back to 2007 levels by the end of the year.
Boeing shares are nevertheless trading lower today, by 1.8%.
Boeing is the #1 holding in the Powershares Aerospace & Defense Portfolio (AMEX:PPA), with 7.23% of the total weight. The PPA is trading up 0.75% Tuesday.
The news could be good for airlines as well, though currently the Guggenheim Airline ETF (AMEX:FAA) is trading down 0.3%. 19.3% of its fund is in United Continental Holdings (NYSE:UAL).
