Energy ETFs Rise, Crude Rallies: BP, XLE, XOM, VDE

Energy stocks rose along with the general markets today, and also were impacted by a rally in crude oil.
BP (NYSE:BP) shares rose 1.9%, while Marathon Oil (NYSE:MRO) traded down 3% after it reported a profit increase of 69%, but disappointed on output.
The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (AMEX:XLE) was trading up 1.3%. It contains 2.48% Marathon. It also contains more than 19% ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) stock, which was trading higher today.
The Vanguard Energy ETF (AMEX:VDE) also counts ExxonMobil as its top holding, with a 24.17% weighting.
Anadarko Petroleum (APC) also reported earnings today. It is the third largest holding in the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Index Fund (IEO), comprising 7.99% of the portfolio.
