Energy stocks are seeing a lackluster day in trading, along with oil itself. Oil is trading up 0.8%.
El Paso Corp. (EP) is trading down 4%, after it posted double the third quarter earnings of last year, just about in-line with expectations. El Paso is a 2.53% holding of the Dynamic Energy Sector Portfolio (AMEX:PXI), which is trading up 0.22%.
EOG Resources (NYSE:EOG) missed analyst estimates with its quarterly report, and is trading lower by 11.15%.
The iShares Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Index Fund (AMEX:IEO) is made up of 6.16% EOG stock, among its top five holdings. That fund is trading down 1.18%.
Both stocks are contained in the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (AMEX:XLE), trading down 0.54% Wednesday.
