Investors are giving MasterCard (NYSE:MA) some credit today after the company posted an expectation-beating surge in third quarter profits. The stock is trading up 3%.
MasterCard’s win drove Visa (NYSE:V) shares higher as well, up 1.25%.
MasterCard is in the top five holdings of the PowerShares Morningstar Stock Investor Core Portfolio (AMEX:PYH), at 3.76% of the total portfolio. The fund is flat Tuesday.
MasterCard makes up 2.03% of the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Financial Services Index Fund (AMEX:IYG), up 0.25% Tuesday, and Visa is 3.13% of its portfolio.
Both stocks are also contained in many general markets funds, such as the Dynamic Large Cap Growth Portfolio (AMEX:PWB) where they together make up 4.64% of the total holdings.
