NRG Energy (NYSE:NRG) posted a decline in third quarter earnings today, missing analyst expectations. Shares are trading lower by 1.7% Thursday.
NRG is one of the top 10 holdings in the First Trust Utilities AlphaDEX Fund (AMEX:FXU). NRG makes up 3.2% of the fund, which is trading up 1.2% Thursday.
Top electric utility holdings include Edison International (NYSE:EIX), at 3.57% of the fund, Ameren (NYSE:AEE), with 3.41% of the portfolio, and Great Plains Energy (NYSE:GXP), at 3.37%.
Edison International is also the #1 holding of the Dynamic Utilities Portfolio (PUI), at 5.4% of the fund, while NRG is 2.6% of the holdings.
