Sanford Bernstein initiated coverage of the non-alcoholic beverage sector today starting Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) with an outperform rating and a $71 price target. Rival PepsiCo (NYSE:PEP) and Dr Pepper Snapple (NYSE:DPS) are also rated outperform by Sanford Bernstein, with price targets of $27 and $42 respectively. Coca-Cola Enterprises (NYSE:CCE) is rated one notch lower at market perform, with a $28 target.
The four stocks make up more than 19% of the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Consumer Goods Sector Index Fund (AMEX:IYK), trading lower by 1.4% today.
Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG) is the top holding of the fund, at 13.75%, while Coca-Cola is 10.15% of the portfolio. Philip Morris International (NYSE:PM), at 8.25%, is the third-largest holding, while PepsiCo takes fourth place, at 8.25% of the fund.
