German-based Siemens (NYSE:SI) said today it is giving employees one-time special payments amounting to a total of $430 million. The company has about 400,000 employees making for a happier holiday season for many. Siemens’ New York-listed shares are trading lower 2.2% Wednesday with the general markets. The stock is one of the top 10 holdings of the BLDRS Europe 100 ADR Index Fund (NASDAQ:ADRU) accounting for 3.2% of the portfolio. The top three holdings of ADRU are HSBC (NYSE:HBC) at 5.98% of the portfolio, followed by Vodafone (NASDAQ:VOD) and Novartis (NYSE:NVS).
