Vodafone Group (NASDAQ:VOD), hiked it full-year earnings forecast today, and announced asset sales, including the sale of its interests in Softbank for $5 billion.
Vodafone is the largest mobile operator in the world in terms of revenue, and is a 45% joint partner in Verizon Wireless with Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ).
Vodafone is the top holding in the Vanguard European ETF (AMEX:VGK), at 11.95% of the total portfolio. HSBC (NYSE:HBC) is next, with 8.25% of the fund, followed by BP (NYSE:BP), Aegon (NYSE:AEG) and Telefonica (NYSE:TEF).
Vodafone is also the top holding in Vanguard’s Europe Pacific (AMEX:VEA) ETF.
