World Bank Chief Robert Zoellick is calling on world economic leaders at this week’s G-20 meeting to use gold as a currency standard.
Gold is trading higher today by 0.65%.
Barrick Gold (NYSE:ABX), the top holding of the Gold Miners ETF (AMEX:GDX) 16.25% of the portfolio, is trading up 2.1% today.
Goldcorp (NYSE:GG), the #2 holding at 11.45% of the fund, is trading higher by 1.4%.
The Gold Miners ETF overall is trading up 1.4% Monday.
Other large holdings include Newmont Mining (NYSE:NEM), at 10.17% of the fund, Anglogold Ashanti (NYSE:AU) at 5.95%, and Silver Wheaton (NYSE:SLW) at 5.61%.
