Turning today to week-over-week shares outstanding changes among the universe of ETFs covered at ETF Channel, the largest outflow was seen in the Materials Select Sector SPDR Fund (AMEX:XLB), which shed 12,750,000 shares, or a 16.7% decrease week over week. Among the largest underlying components of XLB, in morning trading today Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE:FCX) is up about 0.8%, and E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company (NYSE:DD) is higher by about 0.8%.
And on a percentage change basis, the ETF with the largest outflow was the iShares Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Sector Index Fund (AMEX:IYM), which lost 5,000,000 of its shares, for a whopping 25.1% decline in outstanding shares. Among the largest underlying components of IYM, in morning trading today Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE:FCX) is up about 0.8%, and E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company (NYSE:DD) is higher by about 0.8%.
