Bullish Two Hundred Day Moving Average Cross - BBD Friday, November 2, 12:55 PM ET, by Market News Video Staff In trading on Friday, shares of Banco Bradesco S.A. (BBD) crossed above their 200 day ...
There's an old saying on Wall Street about insider buying: there are many possible reasons to sell a stock, but only one reason to buy. Back on September 6, MainSource Financial Group's Director, Charles J. Thayer, invested $4,075.00 into 500 shares of MSFG, for a cost per share of $8.15. Bargain hunters tend to pay particular attention to insider buys like this one, because presumably the only reason an insider would take their hard-earned cash and use it to buy stock of their company in the open market, is that they expect to make money.
In trading on Tuesday, bargain hunters could buy shares of MainSource Financial Group Inc (NASDAQ:MSFG) and achieve a cost basis 4.4% cheaper than Thayer, with shares changing hands as low as $7.79 per share. It should be noted that Thayer has collected $0.01/share in dividends since the time of their purchase, so they are currently down 4.3% on their purchase from a total return basis. MainSource Financial Group Inc shares are currently trading down about 1.9% on the day. The chart below shows the one year performance of MSFG shares, versus its 200 day moving average:
Looking at the chart above, MSFG's low point in its 52 week range is $6.88 per share, with $10.87 as the 52 week high point — that compares with a last trade of $7.80. By comparison, below is a table showing the prices at which insider buying was recorded over the last six months:
