Looking at the sectors faring worst as of midday Friday, shares of Energy companies are underperforming other sectors, showing a 1.1% loss. Within that group, Apache Corp (NASDAQ:APA) and Williams Cos Inc (NYSE:WMB) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 3.2% and 2.5%, respectively. Among energy ETFs, one ETF following the sector is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (NYSE:XLE), which is down 0.9% on the day, and down 45.69% year-to-date. Apache Corp, meanwhile, is down 60.45% year-to-date, and Williams Cos Inc , is down 12.77% year-to-date. Combined, APA and WMB make up approximately 5.1% of the underlying holdings of XLE.

The next worst performing sector is the Utilities sector, showing a 0.5% loss. Among large Utilities stocks, AES Corp. (NYSE:AES) and DTE Energy Co (NYSE:DTE) are the most notable, showing a loss of 1.8% and 1.7%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Utilities stocks is the Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLU), which is down 0.4% in midday trading, and up 0.09% on a year-to-date basis. AES Corp., meanwhile, is down 1.91% year-to-date, and DTE Energy Co, is down 5.43% year-to-date. Combined, AES and DTE make up approximately 4.0% of the underlying holdings of XLU.
