Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in NCR Corp (NYSE:NCR), where a total volume of 8,505 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 850,500 underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 72.9% of NCR's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.2 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $35 strike call option expiring January 15, 2021, with 2,080 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 208,000 underlying shares of NCR. Particularly high volume was seen for the $30 strike call option expiring December 18, 2020, with 487 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 48,700 underlying shares of OPY.
