Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Lexicon Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:LXRX), where a total of 58,962 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 5.9 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 164% of LXRX's average daily trading volume over the past month of 3.6 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $7 strike call option expiring January 15, 2021, with 10,267 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.0 million underlying shares of LXRX. Particularly high volume was seen for the $13 strike call option expiring January 15, 2021, with 2,870 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 287,000 underlying shares of APT.
