Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Fair Isaac Corp (NYSE:FICO), where a total volume of 5,205 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 520,500 underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 177.9% of FICO's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 292,610 shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $480 strike call option expiring December 17, 2021, with 3,006 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 300,600 underlying shares of FICO. Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:WBA) options are showing a volume of 85,562 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 8.6 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 140.7% of WBA's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 6.1 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $40 strike call option expiring February 19, 2021, with 22,006 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 2.2 million underlying shares of WBA. Especially high volume was seen for the $40 strike put option expiring February 19, 2021, with 1,043 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 104,300 underlying shares of ATEX.
