Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Rite Aid Corp (RAD), where a total volume of 19,413 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 1.9 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 81% of RAD's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.4 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $30 strike call option expiring March 19, 2021, with 10,382 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.0 million underlying shares of RAD. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:REGN) saw options trading volume of 9,242 contracts, representing approximately 924,200 underlying shares or approximately 77% of REGN's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.2 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $350 strike put option expiring April 01, 2021, with 876 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 87,600 underlying shares of REGN.
