Noteworthy Friday Option Activity: TGT, YELP, JWN

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Target Corp (NYSE:TGT), where a total volume of 13,224 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 1.3 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 50.1% of TGT's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.6 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $210 strike call option expiring May 14, 2021, with 1,018 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 101,800 underlying shares of TGT. Yelp Inc (NYSE:YELP) saw options trading volume of 2,467 contracts, representing approximately 246,700 underlying shares or approximately 48.1% of YELP's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 513,095 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $45 strike call option expiring January 21, 2022, with 1,300 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 130,000 underlying shares of YELP. And Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE:JWN) saw options trading volume of 13,624 contracts, representing approximately 1.4 million underlying shares or approximately 48% of JWN's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.8 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $50 strike call option expiring July 16, 2021, with 3,000 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 300,000 underlying shares of JWN.
