Notable Friday Option Activity: ILMN, TWTR, WDC

Among the underlying components of the S&P 500 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Illumina Inc (NASDAQ:ILMN), where a total of 3,953 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 395,300 underlying shares. That amounts to about 49.6% of ILMN's average daily trading volume over the past month of 796,825 shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $315 strike put option expiring June 25, 2021, with 1,000 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 100,000 underlying shares of ILMN. Twitter Inc (TWTR) saw options trading volume of 108,060 contracts, representing approximately 10.8 million underlying shares or approximately 49.3% of TWTR's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 21.9 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $54 strike call option expiring May 14, 2021, with 6,956 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 695,600 underlying shares of TWTR.
