Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Louisiana-Pacific Corp (NYSE:LPX), where a total of 12,800 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 1.3 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 57.1% of LPX's average daily trading volume over the past month of 2.2 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $90 strike call option expiring June 18, 2021, with 2,909 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 290,900 underlying shares of LPX. Valero Energy Corp (NYSE:VLO) saw options trading volume of 19,846 contracts, representing approximately 2.0 million underlying shares or approximately 56.8% of VLO's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 3.5 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $80 strike call option expiring June 18, 2021, with 2,138 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 213,800 underlying shares of VLO.
