Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Lordstown Motors Corp (RIDE), where a total volume of 40,111 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 4.0 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 61.4% of RIDE's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 6.5 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $30 strike call option expiring January 20, 2023, with 7,394 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 739,400 underlying shares of RIDE. Teladoc Health Inc (NYSE:TDOC) options are showing a volume of 13,952 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 1.4 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 60.2% of TDOC's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.3 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $160 strike call option expiring July 30, 2021, with 1,278 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 127,800 underlying shares of TDOC. Particularly high volume was seen for the $270 strike call option expiring August 20, 2021, with 776 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 77,600 underlying shares of ZS.
