Notable Monday Option Activity: HOG, IRDM, ALTO

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Harley-Davidson Inc (NYSE:HOG), where a total volume of 13,645 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 1.4 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 107.5% of HOG's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.3 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $42.50 strike call option expiring January 21, 2022, with 3,544 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 354,400 underlying shares of HOG. Iridium Communications Inc (NASDAQ:IRDM) saw options trading volume of 5,286 contracts, representing approximately 528,600 underlying shares or approximately 105% of IRDM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 503,420 shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $48 strike call option expiring September 17, 2021, with 586 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 58,600 underlying shares of IRDM. Especially high volume was seen for the $7.50 strike call option expiring October 15, 2021, with 16,380 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.6 million underlying shares of ALTO.
