Noteworthy Monday Option Activity: BX, VKTX, CVM

Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Blackstone Inc (NYSE:BX), where a total of 16,807 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 1.7 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 60.1% of BX's average daily trading volume over the past month of 2.8 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $116 strike call option expiring August 27, 2021, with 2,126 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 212,600 underlying shares of BX. Viking Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:VKTX) saw options trading volume of 3,642 contracts, representing approximately 364,200 underlying shares or approximately 59.9% of VKTX's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 608,465 shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $8 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 2,307 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 230,700 underlying shares of VKTX. And CEL-SCI Corporation (AMEX:CVM) options are showing a volume of 4,880 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 488,000 underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 59.3% of CVM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 823,610 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $12 strike call option expiring September 17, 2021, with 716 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 71,600 underlying shares of CVM.
