Among the underlying components of the S&P 500 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in CVS Health Corporation (NYSE:CVS), where a total of 36,923 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 3.7 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 61.2% of CVS's average daily trading volume over the past month of 6.0 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $85 strike call option expiring August 13, 2021, with 4,086 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 408,600 underlying shares of CVS. Akamai Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:AKAM) options are showing a volume of 6,719 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 671,900 underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 57.9% of AKAM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.2 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $85 strike put option expiring February 18, 2022, with 2,000 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 200,000 underlying shares of AKAM. Particularly high volume was seen for the $150 strike call option expiring August 20, 2021, with 2,160 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 216,000 underlying shares of ETN.
