Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in MoneyGram International Inc (MGI), where a total volume of 19,900 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 2.0 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 126.6% of MGI's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.6 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $10 strike call option expiring January 20, 2023, with 2,920 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 292,000 underlying shares of MGI. Visa Inc (NYSE:V) saw options trading volume of 91,181 contracts, representing approximately 9.1 million underlying shares or approximately 118.2% of V's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 7.7 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $230 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 18,519 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.9 million underlying shares of V. And Pool Corp (NASDAQ:POOL) saw options trading volume of 2,113 contracts, representing approximately 211,300 underlying shares or approximately 108.3% of POOL's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 195,025 shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $430 strike put option expiring December 17, 2021, with 472 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 47,200 underlying shares of POOL.
