Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Home Depot Inc (NYSE:HD), where a total of 19,340 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 1.9 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 56.5% of HD's average daily trading volume over the past month of 3.4 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $340 strike call option expiring September 17, 2021, with 1,258 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 125,800 underlying shares of HD. Five9, Inc (NASDAQ:FIVN) saw options trading volume of 12,047 contracts, representing approximately 1.2 million underlying shares or approximately 56.3% of FIVN's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.1 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $185 strike call option expiring October 15, 2021, with 2,403 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 240,300 underlying shares of FIVN. And 3M Co (NYSE:MMM) options are showing a volume of 13,062 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 1.3 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 53.6% of MMM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 2.4 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $140 strike put option expiring April 14, 2022, with 1,498 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 149,800 underlying shares of MMM.
