Noteworthy Friday Option Activity: F, SBGI, MARA

Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F), where a total of 699,063 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 69.9 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 112.5% of F's average daily trading volume over the past month of 62.2 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $14 strike put option expiring November 19, 2021, with 81,131 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 8.1 million underlying shares of F. Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc (NASDAQ:SBGI) saw options trading volume of 3,635 contracts, representing approximately 363,500 underlying shares or approximately 98.9% of SBGI's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 367,360 shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $42 strike call option expiring January 21, 2022, with 2,078 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 207,800 underlying shares of SBGI. And Marathon Digital Holdings Inc (NASDAQ:MARA) options are showing a volume of 76,883 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 7.7 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 84.9% of MARA's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 9.1 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $36 strike call option expiring September 24, 2021, with 5,831 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 583,100 underlying shares of MARA.
