Noteworthy Monday Option Activity: RCL, WFC, OXY

Among the underlying components of the S&P 500 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE:RCL), where a total of 16,164 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 1.6 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 44.4% of RCL's average daily trading volume over the past month of 3.6 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $85 strike call option expiring September 17, 2021, with 1,415 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 141,500 underlying shares of RCL. Wells Fargo & Co (NYSE:WFC) options are showing a volume of 112,131 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 11.2 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 43.5% of WFC's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 25.8 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $32.50 strike put option expiring April 14, 2022, with 16,006 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.6 million underlying shares of WFC. And Occidental Petroleum Corp (NYSE:OXY) saw options trading volume of 64,603 contracts, representing approximately 6.5 million underlying shares or approximately 42.9% of OXY's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 15.1 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $27 strike call option expiring September 17, 2021, with 8,321 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 832,100 underlying shares of OXY.
