Notable Monday Option Activity: ACI, M, STC

Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Albertsons Companies Inc (NYSE:ACI), where a total volume of 12,522 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 1.3 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 103.6% of ACI's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.2 million shares. Particularly high volume was seen for the $30 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 3,501 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 350,100 underlying shares of ACI. Macy's Inc (NYSE:M) options are showing a volume of 158,810 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 15.9 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 100.6% of M's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 15.8 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $26 strike put option expiring October 22, 2021, with 14,515 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.5 million underlying shares of M. And Stewart Information Services Corp (NYSE:STC) saw options trading volume of 1,336 contracts, representing approximately 133,600 underlying shares or approximately 97.5% of STC's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 136,965 shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $75 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 1,303 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 130,300 underlying shares of STC.
