Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Tripadvisor Inc (NASDAQ:TRIP), where a total of 14,643 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 1.5 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 57.6% of TRIP's average daily trading volume over the past month of 2.5 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $30 strike put option expiring October 29, 2021, with 3,001 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 300,100 underlying shares of TRIP. Qualcomm Inc (NASDAQ:QCOM) options are showing a volume of 41,560 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 4.2 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 55.7% of QCOM's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 7.5 million shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $160 strike call option expiring January 21, 2022, with 2,308 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 230,800 underlying shares of QCOM.
