Looking at options trading activity among components of the Russell 3000 index, there is noteworthy activity today in Unity Software Inc (NYSE:U), where a total volume of 41,786 contracts has been traded thus far today, a contract volume which is representative of approximately 4.2 million underlying shares (given that every 1 contract represents 100 underlying shares). That number works out to 106.6% of U's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 3.9 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $200 strike call option expiring November 19, 2021, with 4,349 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 434,900 underlying shares of U. IMAX Corp. (NYSE:IMAX) saw options trading volume of 7,429 contracts, representing approximately 742,900 underlying shares or approximately 102.5% of IMAX's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 724,980 shares.
Particularly high volume was seen for the $25 strike call option expiring January 20, 2023, with 6,107 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 610,700 underlying shares of IMAX.
