Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Gannett Co Inc (NYSE:GCI), where a total of 12,529 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 1.3 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 117.9% of GCI's average daily trading volume over the past month of 1.1 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $6 strike call option expiring December 17, 2021, with 5,800 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 580,000 underlying shares of GCI. Callaway Golf Co (NYSE:ELY) options are showing a volume of 13,061 contracts thus far today. That number of contracts represents approximately 1.3 million underlying shares, working out to a sizeable 115.5% of ELY's average daily trading volume over the past month, of 1.1 million shares.
Especially high volume was seen for the $27 strike put option expiring November 19, 2021, with 7,106 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 710,600 underlying shares of ELY.
