The S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and NASDAQ Composite are lower in afternoon trading on Monday. Some of the most actively traded stocks include Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) down 0.95%, Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) down 0.43%, Sirius XM Holdings (NASDAQ:SIRI) down 2.05%, and GE (NYSE:GE) down 1.05%.
Good afternoon this is Sayoko Murase with the Week Ahead Market Report for December 15, 2014.
In overseas trading, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average was lower, down 1.57%, and the Hang Seng was also lower, down 0.95%. In Europe, the FTSE 100 was lower by 1.87% and the German DAX was down 2.72% today.
In economic news, Housing Starts and Building Permits data is released on Tuesday, CPI on Wednesday, and Initial Claims on Thursday.
Some of the companies releasing earnings this week include: Darden Restaurants (NYSE:DRI) on Tuesday, FedEx Corp (NYSE:FDX) on Wednesday, ConAgra Foods (NYSE:CAG) on Thursday, and BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY) on Friday.
