Syniverse Technologies (SVR) announced it will acquire Verisign's (NASDAQ:VRSN) messaging business, for 175 million dollars in cash. The move will expand Syniverse's mobile messaging capabilities, and add approximately 140 million dollars in annual revenue to the top line. Syniverse said the deal will be accretive to cash net income. Shares of Syniverse gained nearly 19% on Tuesday morning.
Entree Gold (AMEX:EGI) announced it has completed its due diligence and received regulatory approval for the option agreement with HoneyBadger Exploration. The agreement gives Entree the option to acquire up to an 80% interest in a mining project located in the Yerington region. The companies are planning an aggressive drill program starting in the fourth quarter of this year. Entree Gold shares surged nearly 33% in early trading Tuesday.
And shares of Ivanhoe Mines (IVN) gained 21% after a majority vote in Mongolia's parliament to approve amendments to four laws including a provision that will cancel the 68% windfall profits tax on copper and gold production. Ivanhoe said these actions clear the way for finalization of an agreement with the Mongolian government for the construction and operation of Ivanhoe's Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold complex in the South Gobi Region.
