Pier 1 Imports (PIR) announced second-quarter results Thursday morning.
The home furnishings company lost $15.8 million, or 17 cents per share, besting analyst expectations. A year ago the company had a loss per share of 34 cents.
Sales dropped 11 percent to $286.7 million. Same-store sales were off 7.6 percent due to a drop in store traffic.
